My name is Carolyn Scott RGN, BSc (Hons), PGDip, MSc; Lic Ac; FEA. I am an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and independent prescriber; educated to masters level with additional qualifications which allow me to practice Medical Acupuncture and Facial Enhancement Cosmetic Acupuncture.

 

I have been trained by and am a member of the British Medical Acupuncture (BMAS) www.medicalacupuncture.co.uk. I adhere to their Code of Practice as well as to that of my own professional Nursing and Midwifery Council Code http://www.nmc.org. I aim to combine my experience in the  nursing and medical field with that of acupuncture therapy to help enhance traditional medical approaches and hence improve health and well being.

 

Many conditions are suitable for treatment with acupuncture to include chronic pain, sinusitis, migraine, hyperhidrosis, gynaecological problems, general anxiety, insomnia and depression but to name a few examples.

 

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE), which provides up to date guidance, recommends acupuncture for the relief of low back pain.
